British Photographic Council Slam Reports Of "New Deal" Between Police And Photographers
Following an article appearing on the Press Gazette website, the British Photographic Council is disappointed that the results of an informal meeting between CO19 (Firearms) Officers and a very small number of independent photographers should result in what appears to be reported as an attempt to vary the Metropolitan Police and ACPO Media Guidelines. No recognised photographers' leaders were at the meeting, nor was there any representative of any photographers' organisation, nor was there a representative of any newspaper publisher or broadcast company. Currently, the recognised negotiating team on behalf of the BPC is Jeff Moore of the BPPA, Paul Stewart of NAPA and John Toner of the NUJ. None of these was present when the meeting was called by Nigel Howard, who is an independent freelance photographer who represents no-one but himself. Read More... |
Exhibition: POLAROID RETROSPECTIVE
 20 October - 14 November
For the past 50 years, from the inception of instant photography, Polaroid has become a medium used and loved by professional photographers. Since the early years of Polaroid film testing in the late 1940s, artists have experimented with Polaroid film materials to create timeless images that are now a document of history. Upon hearing Polaroid’s announcement that they will no longer be renewing stocks of instant film, the AOP Gallery hosts an exhibition of AOP members best work shot on Polaroid to mark the end of an era.
All images have originated from one of the many Polaroid’s Instant Film Products. The exhibition looks back retrospectively over past decades up to the present day. The collection of images is diverse and illustrates the different ways Polaroid can be used. Take a look around this landmark show and enjoy the unique, and often spontaneous, quality of Polaroid film. The exhibition was featured in the Sunday Times Magazine, click here to read the review.
