Artists and visual creators enjoy a share of over £3 million in Payback royalties.

DACS has just paid out over £3 million in royalties to almost 13,000 artists, photographers, illustrators and many other visual creators who have had work reproduced in UK books, magazines or broadcast on terrestrial UK television.

Payback royalties are generated through collective licensing revenue. Collective licences are used in situations where it would be difficult or near impossible for visual creators to license their rights individually. For example, when a university wishes to photocopy an illustration or a photograph printed in a book.
