AOP Gallery Exhibition - BJP International Photography Award
 24-28 November 2009
Exhibition open Tuesday - Friday 10am-6pm and Saturday 12-4pm Edmund Clark won the body of work category in BJP’s International Photography Award 2009 with his project, Guantanamo: if the light goes out, images of every day living spaces in Guantanamo Bay and former detainees’ homes. View the project here Giulio Di Sturco won the single image prize with his shot of a victim of religious violence in India. View the image here Both photographers’ images will be printed by leading fine art printer Spectrum Photographic. In addition Clark receives a £5000 voucher from Robert White and Giulio Di Sturco wins a Sigma DP2. The International Photography Award 2009 is also supported by Blurb Books and Colt Press.
The British Journal of Photography has run the International Photography Award since 2005. The prize has no theme and attracts hundreds of entries from all over the world.

Assistants Awards Night 2009 - Winners Announced!
| |  The 2009 Assistants Awards Presentation was held at the AOP Gallery on Tuesday 6th October.
This year there was a record number of entries and the Judges awarded 9 Winners, 11 Merits and The Assistant of the Year Award which went to Mike Whelan for his 'Ad-Sites' Project. I'm a Photographer, Not a Terrorist!
 All photographers, pro and amateur, are coming under attack for photographing in public places. A campaign to halt the downward spiral was launched on the 10th August with a party at the foundry.
A website has also been launched with information on the places where problems can or may occur and a "stop and search bust card" informing you of your rights if you are stopped.
