11th May - 20th May Private View - Wednesday 12th May, 6.30 – 8.30pm Opening times - Monday – Friday, 10am – 6pm The AOP has been running an annual competition for students since 1981. These awards recognise the excellent standard of photography produced by individuals studying on photography related courses in the U.K and Overseas. Now, over a quarter of a century since their inception, the Students Awards continue to flourish and offer the winning students and their colleges both support and valuable publicity.
One entrant will be crowned the AOP Student of the Year at the Awards night on Wednesday 12th May. They will receive a double page spread in the AOP Photographers Awards book, a day’s work experience with a high-profile AOP member, plus extensive press coverage. We may also use their winning images to promote the AOP Students Awards and AOP Student in the following year.
There will two Merit Awards, plus all finalists will have their winning images exhibited in a 2-week exhibition at the AOP Gallery, from 11th May – 20th May, as well as being the main feature in the Students Awards Book, which is being produced by Blurb this year.

Metadata doesn’t stay with images, the publishing process itself often removes it and each time an image is lifted it loses any metadata imbedded – particularly when it changes format. Read More... |
