Spend a day in the company of Paul Ellis, Martin Evening, Norman Childs and Tim Flach and leave feeling re-invigorated, educated, entertained and knackered.
Martin Evening’s session will “demonstrate various ways to remove things from photographs using Photoshop. It is partly about getting you to 'think outside the box' and realise that there are sneaky ways that you can hide things using Photoshop that don't necessarily require a huge amount of artistic expertise. Sometimes, rather than immediately grab the clone stamp or healing brush, there is a quicker way to do something that requires far less effort. In fact you could even call this 'Retouching without the clone stamp'. Topics covered include: dual vantage point object removal, hair removal using a duplicate backdrop, crowd removal using layer stacks, covering up hair roots as well as new techniques using Photoshop CS5”.
Paul Ellis will ensure “The Shoreditch Camera Club gets treated to yet another seminar on storage and backup systems, software and hardware. Remote control of and transfer of data to and from your base system when on location is made clear, and the secret of always being able to send and receive email, no matter where you are on location, is revealed”.
Following a buffet lunch and by using anecdotes of experiences of working around the world for multi-national corporations, Norman Childs will show how he has developed his business into a global concern using the internet. How his enthusiasm for image making has not waned as he plots a course through his third recession. How he is always trying to be different from anyone else. Going where few have trod, both in the understanding of interpreting clients requirements and the deploying of lighting skills to make the difference of operating in niche markets, and how the answer is always - yes!
We will end the day with a talk by Tim Flach entitled “Whose Upside Down, Us or the Bats? Thoughts Around Perception of Images”. Fee (incl. VAT): £11.72 (to cover a buffet lunch and refreshments) £23.50 non members
