New Podcast: In Conversation with Jonathan Knowles
The O2 bubbles are perhaps Jonathan Knowles' best-known work. Bubbles rise in majestic forms, their every nuance captured, frozen against a deepening sky blue background. The bubbles launched the O2 brand and took Knowles' profile to a new level. Liquid is an important part of his oeuvre; exploding balloons and dazzlingly coloured oil bubbles grace his folio. But there is much more. Still lives, portraits and landscapes vie for your attention. Knowles can bring his skills to just about any subject and get a good ad out of it! His client list is extensive. Recent commissions include work for Britvik, 888.com, Daz (shot in the underwater studio at Pinewood), Weetabix, The Royal Marsden, Tesco and Smokefree England.
Image magazine spoke to Jonathan in Soho’s Trident recording studio, where David Bowie recorded Changes. Where Marc Bolan and Lou Reed and The Beetles sang into the microphones. October’s Image magazine includes a feature exploring the life and work of acclaimed photographer, Jonathan Knowles.
