Winners are announced and Mike Whelan is awarded AOP Assistant of the Year 2009

The 2009 Assistants Awards were held at the AOP Gallery on 6th October.  This year there was a record number of entries and the Judges have awarded 9 Winners, 11 Merits and the Assistant of the Year award, which goes to Mike Whelan for his Ad-Sites Project. The Assistant of the Year has won a fantastic selection of prizes, including:

* A commissioned job with MOT Models
* £1000 worth of insurance for one year with Towergate Camerasure

* A day’s studio hire from Street Studios with free lighting
* A portfolio critique with Angela Woods and Melissa Bones from Hothouse

Successful entrants also had the opportunity to use theprintspace to produce their exhibition prints at a discounted price.
